Punta Bajlo Beach is a legendary meeting place for people from Arbanasi, Zadar and tourists alike. Parking is plentiful, shady and free. In fact there is shade for everyone in this lovely pine forest.
Punta Bajlo beach is located on the southern side of the Zadar city, near the Gaženica ferry port, in the Arbanasi neighborhood. Actually, it's on a small peninsula covered with pine forest and lots of shade. This beach is special because of it's white cliffs and rock formations.
The other side of the peninsula which looks on the Velebit mountain, is much more protected from the waves and the wind. The entrance into the sea is shallow so it's more suitable for families with children.
On the Punta Bajlo beach you can participate in activities like beach volleyball and jumping from the cliffs. All basic facilities like showers, chaning rooms and toilets are available on the beach for free.
If you get hungry or just want to drink a cup of coffee or a beer, head over to Caffe bar Tequila Sunrise. They have fast food and ice cream as well. Tequila bar is one of our favorite bars for afternoon coffee because of it's amazing view on Ugljan island and Zadar archipelago.
Punta Bajlo beach has recently been landscaped, wooden platforms for sunbathing have been installed. Parking is free, but in high season if you come late on the beach, maybe there will be no free space.
Unfotunatelly, there are no buses that drive to the beach, so you will either have to walk from the main bus station, take a taxi or some other type of transportation to get there.
We love this beach and we spend most of our time there. It is the perfect place to relax, swim and have a good time with family and friends.
